Wedding suits
The photograph keeps the suit longer than you will.
Start from the date, not from the suit
Every wedding suit we make starts with one question: when. The date decides the schedule, the schedule decides how many fittings there is room for, and the fittings decide whether the suit is bespoke or merely expensive. Tell us the date in your first message. We build back from it and, if it cannot be done properly, we say so at the start rather than deliver something unfinished the week before.
Then the occasion. An Indian wedding is several events, and the groom is photographed at all of them. A ceremony in the morning, a reception under lights, a cocktail evening, a mehendi in the garden: each asks for a different cloth and sometimes a different garment. We plan the set, not the suit.
Which cloth for which day
A daytime or seaside wedding: linen, or a linen-wool blend if six hours of photographs would make a crease unbearable, in sand, stone or pale blue. An evening reception: a light worsted wool in navy or midnight, which has a depth under lights that nothing else does, as a three-piece or with a dinner jacket if the invitation says black tie. The ceremony itself: the Nehru jacket or bandhgala, in ivory, midnight or bottle green, cut with the same Neapolitan hand as the suit.
Three-piece, and the second suit
A waistcoat changes a suit. It lets a quiet cloth carry colour, as the slate-blue check with the mustard waistcoat in our own photographs does, and it gives the groom something to wear when the jacket comes off at the reception. A second, lighter suit for the day after, in stone cotton or olive with a knitted tie, is worth planning at the same time; it is the one that gets worn for years.
Colours that photograph
Midnight blue reads richer than black under evening light. Navy with a mustard or a burgundy waistcoat for colour without a loud cloth. Ivory for a ceremony. Sand and stone by the sea. We show every cloth against your skin and, if you like, against the colour the bride has chosen; the photograph is the thing that lasts.

In practice
What we decide together
Timing
Tell us the date first. The schedule is built back from it with at least one fitting on you.
The set
Ceremony, reception, cocktail, the day after: one plan, so nothing is bought twice.
Cloth
Linen or a blend for the day, a light worsted for the evening, silk or jacquard for the ceremony.
Shirts and trousers
A white or ivory shirt in Giza cotton, a second pair of trousers for the suit worn most.
Book an appointment
A consultation costs nothing. Tell us the occasion and the date, and we take it from there.
Questions
What people ask us
How far ahead should a groom order a bespoke wedding suit?
As early as the date is known. We confirm what is possible at the first meeting; the earlier it is, the more fittings there is room for and the calmer the week of the wedding.
Suit, tuxedo or Nehru jacket for the groom?
It depends on the event. The ceremony usually asks for the Nehru jacket or bandhgala, the reception for a suit or, for black tie, a dinner jacket. A groom may need one of each; we plan them together.
What colour suit photographs best at a wedding?
Midnight blue in the evening, navy with a coloured waistcoat for the reception, sand or stone linen in the day. Black reads flat under most lights except as a dinner jacket.
Can you make suits for the groom's family and friends too?
Yes. The groomsmen, the fathers, the brothers; the same schedule, one plan. Tell us how many and the date.
How much does a bespoke wedding suit cost?
The price depends on the cloth and the work in it. We quote at the consultation, once the cloth is chosen, and the price does not move after that.
